Lately we’ve been immersed in a programme of amazing interactions between local projects and organisations who have joined forces to flex their foody know how for our conscious community. Monthly events have unravelled the what’s what, who where and when of local food. Off the back of one particularly inspiring evening, Local Food Producers and Outlets, a few of us decided to take the idea further and begin a conversation to create a food directory. Progress is being made and we hope to have something in place by the Autumn.

Also, we have hosted an incredible evening of North West groups who brought a wealth of inspiration about ways to work with communities to make sustainable changes in their lives. Incredible edible projects, Transition trees, ideas for a North West events calendar and many more exchanges.

Luckily, Transition Network must have received our telepathic messages for support to help grow a more cohesive network across the NW groups and have begun to support the process which will likely see the creation of a hub or series of gatherings occur to help us all work more effectively and fill up on inspiration again from each other.

We have currently organised a social for 5th August and our Symposium for the 15th October and are exploring ideas of how to theme our forthcoming education monthly events at Transition cafe. Building communities is our favourite theme so far but we are always open to ideas from people who would like to take things forward.

Hopefully see some of you again at the social or in September when our cafe events will start up again after a summer break.
